Finding Healing With Food Through Nature


One of the single most potent healing aspects in my recovery with food was realizing how deeply connected I was to nature, and how this food that I was plagued by, obsessed with and stressed out by, were part of this beautiful and dynamic web of nature that was all around me. It took a couple years of recovery, but eventually, I found I could start to relate to food as a gift from nature instead of a thing to be controlled or restricted, or as a salve to deal with my emotional life. And from there, I saw how me, this body and soul was a part of something bigger.

And that changed everything— I had a radically different experience of myself, my appetite and my body. Nature has become my wisest and wildest teacher. Find a place this week where you can connect with her, and in turn, yourself, in a wholly new way.
